AutoSys installation cannot proceed, with message "Only one CA Workload Automation AE instance can be defined within an Oracle tablespace."

Issue/Introduction

During a new installation of AutoSys, the following message is received and the installation cannot proceed:

You are adding a new instance, but have specified an Oracle data tablespace name which already has a CA Workload Automation AE database defined in it. Only one CA Workload Automation AE instance can be defined within an Oracle tablespace.

Click OK to go back to specify another Oracle tablespace name for this CA Workload Automation AE instance.

Cause

The database specified during installation already contains an AutoSys database (AEDB) associated with a particular instance name that is different to the one specified during install.

Resolution

If you intend to use this database along with its existing contents, you must specify the same instance name as the one resulting from this query to the existing AEDB:

select str_val from aedbadmin.ujo_alamode where type='AUTOSERV';

The installation will proceed and even upgrade the AEDB if necessary.

Otherwise, you may want to delete the database or use another empty database for this installation.
