Issue/Introduction

LIBINDEX is a command used to list an index of all modules on a Librarian master file or lists an index of all the modules associated with a particular programmer name on the file.
The command LIBINDEX as other Librarian commands prefixed with "LIB" are LIB/TSO commands only available from librarian TSO interface and can't be run in batch.

In some cases it would be more interesting to run such commands in batch, then the question is; "Is there an equivalent command that can be executed in batch?"

Environment

Release : 4.4

Component : Librarian

Resolution

There is a command that lists an index of all the modules on a Librarian master file or lists an index of all the modules associated with a particular programmer name on the file;

-OPT command in AFOLIBR batch utility will produce results similar to LIBINDEX command, see JCL CALJJCL(LR44VER) for a full list of usage sample.
-OPT command uses several parameters that should satisfy any need.
Example: -OPT INDEX(M) generates a Management Index Listing.
For extended features available for Index management, see -INDEX statement.

Note: UCR ARCINDEX program Provides an archived member level index of a selected Librarian member or an entire master file.
