Missing IZUD00DF.json in z/OSMF Portable Software Instance

Issue/Introduction

I am just experimenting with using z/OSMF to get a Broadcom product as a Portable Software Instance. Following the information in "ca-vantage-storage-resource-manager-14-0.pdf" in the chapter "Acquire a z/OSMF Portable Software Instance", when I try to register the software instance to z/OSMF Software Management PSI I get an error message:

The portable software instance descriptor file "/NFS/ZOS/COMMON/SERVICE/PSI/AAXF1G0/IZUD00DF.json" or its directory does not exist on system "DEV". IZUD276E

IBM portable software instances seem to all include a IZUD00DF.json file to describe the package. For example:

I searched for Broadcom reported errors about a missing IZUD00DF.json but found no hits.

Resolution

You downloaded the non-ZOSMF install package.

After selecting VANTAGE STORAGE RESOURCE MANAGER you will see a list of products. The first on the list is

CA Vantage Storage Resource Manager MVS 

Click on CA Vantage Storage Resource Manager MVS for 14.0. On page 2 you will find VANT00.V14R0.ZOSMF.pax.Z ,
