Issue/Introduction

Unable to edit URL fields type attributes in the Modern User Experience (UX / UI) from the project properties tab in Project Summary. The pencil icon is missing for this attribute type.  This only happens when Zoom Percentage is not set to 100% (if we change it to 90% or 110%)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. In Classic Clarity, go to Administration->Studio->Objects->Project->Attributes
  2. Click New
  3. Enter the below fields and click Save
    • Attribute Name
    • Attribute ID
    • Data Type = URL
    • API Attribute ID
  4. Navigate to Modern UX Blueprints
  5. Create a copy of the Standard Project Blueprint and click on the new Blueprint
  6. Click Edit
  7. From the Fields section, search for the attribute created in Step 3, and move the field over to the Project Summary section
  8. Click Publish
  9. Go to the Project Grid
  10. Add Blueprint to the column list
  11. Assign a project to the Blueprint created in step 5
  12. Click on the project and go to the Properties tab
  13. Click on the URL attribute

Expected Results: The URL field is editable

Actual Results: The URL field is not editable (the pencil (edit) icon is missing)

Environment

Release : 15.9.1, 15.9.2

Browser versions impacted include:

  • Chrome 89.0.4389.128 (64-bit)
  • Chrome:89.0.4389.90
  • Chrome: 90.0.4430.85
  • Firefox 88.0 (64-bit)
  • Firefox 78.2.0esr (32-bit)
  • Microsoft Edge 90.0.818.42 (64-bit)

Cause

This is caused by DE60656 and impacts certain browser versions / zoom levels

Resolution

This is fixed in 15.9.3

Workarounds:

  • Option 1: Edit the URL field from the project in Classic Clarity

  • Option 2: Add the URL field to the project grid list view in Modern UX and edit the URL there

  • Option 3: Adjust the Screen Resolution and / or Browser Zoom level

    • The zoom % that works depends on screen size (along with browser version). Example: On a laptop, a zoom level of 100% may display the pencil icon in Chrome, while on a larger monitor, the zoom level may be required to be much higher where the workaround isn't able to be used.

Additional Information

This has been seen when the screen zoom is not standard.
