What is the purpose of TMSOSCAT?

TMSOSCAT has 2 purposes.   The TMSOSCAT utility can be used either to determine the difference between the TMC and the operating system catalog or to ensure the new TMISCAT in TMC FLAG4 X'08' and DSNBISCA in DSNB FLAG1 X'08' bits are set on for all files currently cataloged. 

 

When using TMSOSCAT utility to determine the difference between the TMC and the operating system catalog you will use control statements.

 

But when running TMOSCAT  to ensure the new TMISCAT in TMC FLAG4 X'08' and DSNBISCA in DSNB FLAG1 X'08' bits are set on for all files currently cataloged you will use certain parameters.
