I just upgraded Netmaster to 12.2 and now the IP Resource Monitor for TCP Stack shows an error on the alert monitor, but I do not see anything wrong.
Alert:
10.54.34 STACK (HIPER): ifStatusOper is Down TCPIP
The only PTFs I found are all very old and already superseded
RO98295,RO98296,RO94483
Release : 12.2
Component : Netmaster Network Management for TCP/IP
The issue here is with an inactive or very little used interface that generates an unnecessary alert.
In your case it’s
10.54.34 STACK (HIPER): ifStatusOper is down TCPIP
You have two options.
For the second option, you can do the following:
Resource ID ......... TCPIP
Description ......... tcpip
Current Alerts ...... 3
.=Expand-Collapse D=Samples S/=Summary H=Hours DL=Days W=Weeks UA=UpdAlrt
Es Alerts sN Last
Qualifier/Attribute Open Total Samples Sample Value Type
Fs HIPER 0 34 16:50
| Fs ifStatusMatch 0 17 16:50 YES ENUM
UA | Ds ifStatusOper 0 17 16:50 Up ENUM
Resource ......... TCPIP (STACK)
Attribute ........ ifStatusOper
Description ...... Interface actual status
Qualifier ........ HIPERSOCK
Three Strike Alert NO (YES or NO)
S/U=Update A=Actions C=Clear Actions R=Reset Alert
Max
Alert Type Summary Sev Act# Alert Description
U Value Alert Sev:2 ,¬UP Reset: UP 2 -
**END**
Resource ......... TCPIP
Attribute ........ ifStatusOper
Description ...... Interface actual status
Qualifier ........ HIPERSOCK
+ Value Alert --------------------------------------------
| Alert when value Sev Alert Description
| is = down 1
|
| or =
|
| or =
|
| or =
|
| or NOT
|
| Clear Alert when value is
| or NOT down
+----------------------------------------------------------
Or this
Resource ......... TCPIP
Attribute ........ ifStatusOper
Description ...... Interface actual status
Qualifier ........ HIPERSOCK
+ Value Alert --------------------------------------------
| Alert when value Sev Alert Description
| is =
|
| or =
|
| or =
|
| or =
|
| or NOT UP 2
|
| Clear Alert when value is UP
| or NOT
+----------------------------------------------------------
The goal in both cases is to modify the alert so that neither value will ever occur.
So for example you could change the ‘Alert When value is/is not’ field to ABCD
And the ‘Clear Alert when value is/is not’ field to WXYZ.
The main issue is that the values be something that can never occur.
