Dynamic Capacity Intelligence

Issue/Introduction

As the CA Dynamic Capacity Intelligence (DCI) Controller and Agents communicate via TCP/IP, then which application layer protocol are they talking?

Environment

Release : 2.0

Component : CA DYNAMIC CAPACITY INTELLIGENCE

Resolution

For mainframe to mainframe (Controller/Agent or Controller/ISPF), DCI uses socket applications. In each Agent and in the Controller there is a TCP task dedicated to establishing communications, building data streams and sending and receiving these data streams. DCI uses standard socket programming as defined in the "z/OS Communications Server: IP Sockets Application Programming Interface Guide and Reference" manual.
The same is true for the ISPF interface.
