Issue/Introduction

Computers running Encryption Desktop Drive Encryption experience a BSoD (Blue Screen of Death), typically when resuming from hibernation or sleep.

Analysis of the memory dump references the Symantec PGP Whole Disk Encryption driver (PGPwded.sys).

Environment

Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.4.2 to 10.5 MP1.

Cause

A power I/O request packet (IRP) could not be completed in time.

Resolution

Upgrade to release 10.5 MP2 or above which contain a resolution for this issue.
