Removal of ACF2 CICS and IMS datasets from APF and LINKLIST

Issue/Introduction

There is a system that does not run any CICS or IMS regions. Is it safe to remove the CAX1CICS and CAX1IMS ACF2 datasets from the APF and LINKLIST on this system?

 

Resolution

If a system is not running CICS or IMS it is generally safe to remove the CAX1CICS and CAX1IMS datasets from the APF and LINKLIST on that system. The implication is that if CICS or IMS is implemented at a future date on this system, the ACF2 dataset for the respective product will need to be re-added to the LINKLIST and be APF authorized.
