Distributed Install Fails With - SPC-INT-20026: Unable to authenticate with SRAdmin on

Issue/Introduction

When running the distributed installer to install Spectrum without the GUI the install may fail with an error about connecting to the SRAdmin

Linux:
   ./sdiclinux.exe -h HostInformationFile.txt -p passwordfile.txt -test

Windows:
   sdicnt.exe -h HostInformationFile.txt -p passwordfile.txt -test

host: UpdateVSRuntime: Unable to authenticate.
host: UpdateVSRuntime: Unable to authenticate.
host: SPC-INT-20026: Unable to authenticate with SRAdmin on host.

host: Make sure the username and password are correct and the time on host is within two minutes of the time on this host.
host: Test complete
All tests complete

Resolution

There are several possible causes for this error

- user and/or password incorrect in the password file

- If the installer is run remotely the time of each machine must be within 2 minutes of each other

- Verify the parameters defined in the HII file are correctly set

If the above all checks out but the error persists make sure you have upgraded sradmin.exe to match the version you are upgrading to:

Spectrum upgrade will not connect to SRAdmin (SPC-INT-20026)

Note: For Windows machines the following should be included so that processd can start the processes as the spectrum user
