CA Unified Communications Monitor (NetQoS / UCM)

Issue/Introduction

We need to monitor the SIP/Voice interfaces of Cisco SBC . Currently SBCs are added to the UCM but voice interfaces are not discovered. Are we missing something ?

Environment

Release : 4.3.3

Component : NQUCM - UNIFIED COMMUICATION MONITOR

Resolution

Please refer to the documentation for "Add, Change, or Delete Voice Gateways".

It describes that UCM automatically discovers Cisco or Avaya voice gateways on your network when those devices handle calls.  Also, UCM automatically polls the gateways and discovers information about available voice interfaces.  It does this via SNMP.

So, you'll need to make sure that SNMP profiles are properly configured so that this device can be monitored.  This is documented here:
SNMP Profiles

In this snmp polling, UCM looks for active interfaces of type ds0 and ds1.  Interfaces with ports(mib types) other than ds0 and ds1 are not considered by UCM.
