Issue/Introduction

Enabled caching facility in our environment. After implementing it, for every IPL we are getting the below WTOR. Can you give me the solution if it is an issue with enable caching facility?

Resolution

At the startup of ACF2, there are startup considerations to specify the CACHE option in the GSO OPTS record so that CA ACF2 for z/OS initializes the cache facility during CA ACF2 for z/OS startup. These steps occur:

• CA ACF2 for z/OS attempts to locate the CAC CACHOPTS record that defines the cache facility-processing environment.
• When the CACHOPTS record is not located, CA ACF2 for z/OS prompts the console operator with the following message: ACF79517 CONTINUE CACHE PROCESSING WITH DEFAULT VALUES?

If you do not have a CACHOPTS record this is a normal message. The message is asking if you are ok with the default values for the CACHOTPS record. To not have this WTOR come up at IPL time you need to insert a CACHOPTS record.

The CACHOPTS record can be found in control CAC records. As an example:
