sqlserver probe not maintaining the configuration

Issue/Introduction

sqlserver probe (sqlserver_monitor) is not maintaining the configuration entered.

1. GUI selection box for 'Enable Cross domain' is not persisting the setting, so the connection test fails. The selection is not saved.

2. Selection of the specific connection for the test is also not saved/persisted.

Environment

Release : 20.3

Component : UIM - SQLSERVER 5.42/5.45

Cause

- leftover probe GUI artifacts from previous versions

Resolution

1. Deactivate the sqlserver probe

2. Save off the sqlserver_monitor.cfg

3. Rt-click and delete the probe

4. Delete the sqlserver_monitor probe directory from the filesystem at

   ...\Program Files (x86)\Nimsoft\probes\database\sqlserver

5. Search for conf_*.exe from the main drive, e.g., C:\

6. Delete conf_sqlserver.exe and/or conf_sqlserver_<version>.exe

7. Deploy the sqlserver probe v5.45

8. Configure and test your connection(s) 

9. Confirm you have no more GUI issues

10. Restore the original sqlserver_monitor.cfg

11. Test again

 

If the problem persists, after following the steps above, try to open the sqlserver probe GUI by doing the following:

- Hold down the SHIFT key and at the same time double click the probe.

Retest the issue.

If the problem persists again, upgrade the robot to 9.33 and retest.
