INST0001 fails jcl error - trying to allocate NONSMS datasets.

Issue/Introduction

Installing Sysview 16.0, the first installation job (INST0001) is causing  issues when the datasets including the SMP/E datasets need to be allocated on NONSMS volumes.

It seems that even if  SMS=NO is specified into the GSVINS installation macro,  SMS ACS routines are getting invoked during the allocation of the datasets and the job fails.

Resolution

As verified, the ACS routines are always involved assigning STORCLAS=STANDARD when SMS=NO.

In order to assign  STORCLAS=NONSMS and the correct VOLUME, in INSTALL job the following setting need to be specified:

SMS=YES

STOCLAS=NONSMS

SMSVOL=vvvvvv

where vvvvvv is  the volume for the datasets allocation

Moreover, VOLUME(vvvvvv)  (volume for the SMP/E datasets allocation) needs to be added to the IDCAMS input INST0001 installation job.
