Issue/Introduction

Problem:

Analysis of a Compare strategy (or using command COMP during creation) with a remote target DB2 system results in this error:

RMA318E UNEXPECTED RETURN CODE RECEIVED FROM ROAGETXT
     FUNCTION=VW RC=X"00000004

                   
MIGRATOR ANALYSIS COMPLETED, RETURN CODE =  12

 

Environment:

All releases of RC/Compare and DB2

 

Resolution:

This can happen if the target DB2 system is remote and an entry for that system is either missing or is defined wrong in the SETUPxx member of the parmlib (your.highlevel.CDBAPARM). You must define the remote system like the local system, i.e. an entry that starts like this:

SSID     (DB2A)
SSIDDESC (DB2 SUBSYSTEM)
SSIDVER  (V10)
SSIDMODE (NFM)
LOCATION (LOACATIONA)
LOCSSID (DB2A) 
...  etc ...
