Database Management for DB2 for z/OS - Administration Suite COMMON SERVICES FOR Z/OS

Issue/Introduction

What is the impact of applying Database Management Solutions for Db2 for z/OS PTF SO16067 without having Common Services for z/OS (CCS) PTF SO14822 applied?
Reading the doc in PTF SO16067, will the ability to send SMPE information to Broadcom support using utilities CAIDEBUG or CAISMPU be lost?
Is the impact limited to this function or could it cause failures or generate error messages with Common Services or the Database Management Solutions tools?

Resolution

DBM Solutions for Db2 PTF SO16067 updates the load module that the CAIDEBUG utility called. It was changed to issue a message
that CAIDEBUG is no longer supported, and to go use CCS CAISMPU utility instead.

In addition, the sample CAIDEBUG JCL contains comments saying pretty much the same thing...giving a hint on where to find the CAISMPU JCL.

If SO16067 is applied, but Common Services for z/OS PTF SO14822 is NOT applied, you will loose the ability to send information to support using utilities CAIDEBUG or CAISMPU.

Any impact is limited to this function only. No other failures or error messages will result with Common Services or the DB MGMT Db2 solutions tools.
