Disk Backup and Restore - MVS

Issue/Introduction

Setting DSSTOLNQ to Y during during the backup the following messages are displayed and the files are not backed up:

Resolution

Disk function:
The Sysparm DSSTOLNQ  should be set to N. The default value is N, which causes the DSS data mover to bypass any data sets which cannot be successfully serialized. If set to Y, the TOLERATE(ENQFAILURE) command parm will be included in the DFSMSdss DUMP command stream.

Explanation

Proper RACF® authority is required as follows:
               TOLERATE(ENQF) keyword—RACF FACILITY class authority to process data sets even though shared or exclusive access fails.
