Issue/Introduction

After Service Desk admin configures xFlow/Service Point for SSO, the Windows server where xFlow/Service Point runs will crash from time to time. This tech doc explains what could be the reason and provides a simple resolution.

Environment

Service Desk 17.3 and higher

Windows OS

Cause

Windows lsass.exe (local security authority subsystem service) crashes. lsass.exe could not handle the handles well and when handles keep going up it crashes.

Resolution

On the windows xFlow/Service Point server,  add this registry

Registry Key:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Setting: TrackLoopbackForSession
Type: DWORD
Value: 0

and reboot the server
