Is there a maximum limit or expiration on Top Secret commands that are queued in the CPF recovery file when the remote destination system is down?
Release :
Component : Top Secret for z/OS
There is no time limit or expiration period for commands when CPF is down. Once the CPF link is back up, commands that were saved in the CPF recovery file will start to flow again. They are sent in batches so the receiving system doesn't get overloaded. Once the first batch is complete, the next batch of Top Secret commands is sent. This goes on until all commands that were saved have been sent and processed to the destination node.
The maximum limit of Top Secret commands that can be save to the CPF Recovery File depends on the size of the CPF recovery file.
See CPFFILE DD for more information on the CPF recovery file.
When the CPF recovery file becomes full, the following message is written to the Top Secret job log and console each time CPF wants to write something to the file but cannot:
TSS9803W NO FREE RECORDS ON CPF RECOVERY FILE
The CPF operation continues but, in case of failure, the unwritten command cannot be recovered. When the CPF recovery file is full, any new commands that are not propagated cannot be written to the CPF recovery file.
