Issue/Introduction

On the "Suggested Upgrade Path " page of CA 7 documentation, the "Step 9 Deploy the Product to Production System" section has the following note: 

Note to NCF sites: Upgrade the NCF1 sites (where CA WA CA 7 Edition is executed) to the new release before upgrading any NCF2 sites (where CA WA CA 7 is not executed)

If the customer environment consists of  an NCF2 site(DEV) and an NCF1 site(PROD), is it a requirement to upgrade the Production System before the Development when moving to 12.1?

Resolution

The Note to NCF sites: Upgrade the NCF1 sites (where CA WA CA 7 Edition is executed) to the new release before upgrading any NCF2 sites (where CA WA CA 7 is not executed), reported in the documentation should be intended as a recommendation and not as a requirement.
