Issue/Introduction

EZIOE004 Logical I/O error on file  EZTR002

           Error indicator returned by access method.

          Error: No space left on device

Environment

LINUX / UNIX

Cause

A possible cause for this error can be in the handling of the work areas.

Temporary Files Virtual (VFM) files and sort work files are written as temporary files.

On non-mainframe platforms, each virtual file is a temporary file.

Resolution

You can re-direct work files by setting the TMPDIR environment variable.

 However, virtual files cannot be re-directed due to the possibility they must be retained and re-opened.

  If you must re-direct these temporary files, do not make them VIRTUAL files.
