Issue/Introduction

The cdd-email-plugin endpoints require username/password credentials be provided. Without these credentials the Endpoint cannot be selected while adding a 'Send Email' task. Our SMTP Server is setup to work without authentication.

Cause

This is working as designed.

Environment

CDD-Email-Plugin : 1.3

Release : 8.0.0+

Component : CDD RELEASE DESIGN & EXECUTION

Resolution

As noted, this is working as designed. A possible workaround is to configure the Endpoint with invalid username/password. However, whether this works or not will depend on how your SMTP Server is set up. Some SMTP servers will ignore the username/passwords. Some SMTP Servers will return an authentication error such as when given invalid username/password info:

Authentication for connectivity test failed javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: 535 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful

If the workaround is not working for you and you would like to submit an enhancement request then please open an issue with Technical Support so they can advise accordingly.
