Issue/Introduction

When entering "DDOL" from the Ideal main menu, some users receive an error:

1-DDOL000021C - DDIP - USER NOT AUTHORIZED - SEE SECURITY ADMINISTRATOR.

What is the cause, and how do these users become authorized to get into DDOL when using Datadictionary Internal Security?

Resolution

Your Ideal Administrator will need to update the user's profile in Datadictionary with the proper authorization. Here are the steps:

  1. Use the DDOL CICS transaction or enter DDOL from the Ideal command line to go into Datadictionary Online (DDOL)
  2. From the DDOL Main Menu (the panel title is DATADICTIONARY Mode Select) enter the command SET MODE AUTH or select menu option 4 to enter Authorization Mode. You will be asked to re-enter your Datadictionary password and then press ENTER.
  3. From the DATADICTIONARY Security Menu, enter the command MNT PER or select menu option 1 to maintain security information for a specific person.
  4. Scroll down to find the desired user, or enter the full or partial username (if partial, be sure to end with the wildcard "*") in the search field at the top.
  5. When the desired user is found, add or verify the appropriate Datadictionary profile (such as $DD-ADM, $DD-UPD, or $DD-DIS), and if this user will perform Datadictionary Security functions, set the Sec. Admin. column to "Y".
  6. Once all the values have been entered and verified, press PF9 to apply the changes.
  7. The user can now enter DDOL from the Ideal command line. No other changes are needed.
