Issue/Introduction

Can I use a backup of my current AAI database in a new environment with the same schedulers?

Environment

Release : 6.2.0

Component : AUTOMIC AUTOMATION INTELLIGENCE INTEGRATION FOR AUTOSYS

Resolution

This can be done if the new AAI environment will be monitoring the same Schedulers as the exiting environment.

Below are some things to consider:

1. It is recommended taking the database backup with AAI down, so you don't capture any transactions in progress in the DB.

2.  AAI encrypts the AAI database password in a file, so you should go into the Configuration tool->Database tab after the DB is restored, and edit the database connection settings and just re-enter the username and password and ensure a Test Connection works.

3. AAI encrypts the user names and passwords for the schedulers in a file,  so after restoring and bring up AAI, you may need to just go to each scheduler and do a test connection to make sure it can authenticate.

If not just update the credentials for each scheduler's database from the admin tab.

4. If you have SMTP setup, which I am not seeing in the lab, and if it requires username and password, which not all SMTP servers do, you may need to update this via the configuration tool as well.
