Issue/Introduction

IPSLA items have stopped collecting metrics.

Many devices don't have the IPSLA items that were previously created and polled.

Those devices that do have items for them don't show current data being collected.

Cause

The devices do not have the MIB OIDs, or they have the OIDs but respond with empty/null values required to generate items for polling.

In this situation the required OIDs from the Names metric expression, used to generate items with names for polling, would show the following in the devices Discovery Logging.

  • Mar 24 13:11:18.533: Column 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.42.1.2.2.1.2 is empty.  Set error to SUCCESS
  • Mar 24 13:11:18.533: Column 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.42.1.2.2.1.4 is empty.  Set error to SUCCESS
  • Mar 24 13:11:18.533: Column 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.42.1.2.2.1.6 is empty.  Set error to SUCCESS

These should return values and not be empty.

Environment

All supported DX NetOps Performance Management releases

Resolution

Fix the device so that it responds with the correct values.
