Upgrading to release 11.6: Does DB2 need to be relinked?

Issue/Introduction

Migrating from Easytrieve release 6.4 to release 11.6 in compatibility mode, will relinking DB2 be necessary?

 

 

Environment

Easytrieve Report Generator, release 11.6
Pan/SQL 2.4C

Resolution

Pan/SQL product serves as the interface between DB2 and Technologies' product, especially and primarily the Easytrieve product.

There is not specific syntax or code for Pan/SQL.

Pan/SQL is fine with both releases and will therefore be fine with release 6.4 and release 11.6 in compatibility mode.  No relinking is needed.

Please still add the Pan/SQL CAILIB to your JCL in order to have the Easytrieve DB2 program run correctly.  This has not changed.
