Issue/Introduction

How is this "Inv_HW_Network_adapter" Dataclass populated on a client machine? What data is used for it?

As well, some resources the values for some adapters contain "-1" values, what does it mean?

Resolution

"Inv_HW_Network_adapter" is collected partially from WMI and from registry.

WMI collects the following Dataclass columns from Win32_NetworkAdapter :

DC "Adapter Type ID"  from WMI property "AdapterTypeID"
DC "Network Address" from WMI  property "MACAddress"
DC "Device ID" from WMI  property "DeviceID"
DC "Display Name" from WMI property "Description"

Other values are collected from Registry using VBS from registry keys located at Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e972-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} based on logic defined in script.

"[Max Speed (Bits per Second)" set to -1 means that speed is auto
