Issue/Introduction

Introduction:

This document outlines when the EnableFailover Host Configuration Object setting applies to policy servers listed in the HCO.

Question:

I am using Clusters in the HCO of my Web Agent. Does the value of the EnableFailover any effect on the behavior within the Clusters?

Environment:

All Single Sign-On versions

Answer:

When using clusters, the EnableFailover setting is not used. EnableFailover only applies if you have defined a basic policy server list. With clusters there will be dynamic load balancing among servers and if multiple clusters are defined, failover to another cluster is controlled by the failover threshold setting.
