FDM: Can we Call Various Masking Routines from Inside Custom Java Code which is using the FDM Engine?

Issue/Introduction

We are trying to migrate from Delphix custom masks. They wrote custom masks which have many conditionals  where they tokenized and avoided keywords from a list and then used their equivalent of Format Encrypt in the code and returned the masked value. If we are running in the Fast Data Masker, I know we can create Java extensions, but can they call existing functions? This needs to work for both File Masking and database masking.

If not can we use the masking found in Hive SDK and use them from there?

Do you know if there are examples in Communities of using these?
