Issue/Introduction

The following error message occurs for a digital certificate call with Top Secret:

IRRSDL00 GetData failed: SAF 8, RC 8, Reason 84 

Environment

Cause

Top Secret keyring label name and the application keyring name do not match.   

Resolution

IRRSDL00 is a R_datalib security call.
   
A SAF 8, RC 8, Reason 84 in the R_datalib security call means that the keyring is not found. This usually means that the Top Secret keyring label name is not there or the Top Secret keyring label name does not match the keyring name supplied by the application.

The keyring name used in the application needs to match the keyring label name (LABLRING) in Top Secret exactly since it is case sensitive. For example, in IBM's native FTP client/server, the parameter specifically designed for the TLS handshake certificate is KEYRING. It is defined in the FTP.DATA file.

- Syntax: KEYRING userid/keyringname (or KEYRING *AUTH*/* to search all system keyrings). The 'keyringname' for Top Secret is the LABLRING on the keyring.
- Action: Directs the system to the designated RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret certificate database.
