OWB error "Encountered an improper argument"

Issue/Introduction

The following error is generated in Open Workbench (OWB).

"Encountered an improper argument"

After clicking the OK, OWB is closed. 

This is a custom view that was set as the default view that worked prior to upgrade. 

Environment

Release : 15.9

Component : SAAS OPEN WORKBENCH (OWB)

Cause

In previous releases of OWB, the ETC field was named as "ETC", during View creation. 

In newer releases the name was changed to "Estimates to Complete".

If an older view still references the old name, this may cause the issue.

Resolution

The old field needs to be removed, and the newly named field should be used instead.

Here's the steps on how to replace this field at the task and assignment level:

1. Open OWB
2. Right click on your view and select Edit.
3. Double click “Task Information” then double click “All”
4. Scroll down until you see “Estimate to Complete”
5. Click and drag it into the view in the desired location
6. Double click on Resource Information then double click on “All”
7. Click and drag “Estimate to Complete” into the view in the desired location
8. Click OK and click on any other view. 
9. At the prompt save your view.
