Issue/Introduction

We need to submit a System Security Plan (SSP) in order to proceed with the migration to Web Viewer V12.1.  Where was the JAVA JDK downloaded from the keytool software.  How are these used in Web Viewer?

Can we use Oracle Java or IBM Java?

Environment

• Output Management Web Viewer 12.1
• Java

Resolution

The Java JDK was downloaded from OpenJDK and is open source.  We use the OpenJDK here, but do not recommend or require it.  Java from other vendors may be used.

Web Viewer is written in the Java language so it is used everywhere.

keytool is included with Java and it is used for managing keys and certificates.
