XCOM Data Transport - Windows

Issue/Introduction

XCOM was installed on Windows 10 and the Standalone GUI will not start. No error messages are received.

Environment

  • XCOMâ„¢ Data Transport® for Windows 11.6 SP03
  • Java

Cause

To determine the cause of why the GUI is not started:

  1. Open a CMD.exe window and change directory to %XCOM_HOME%"
  2. Execute StandaloneUI.bat. This is the program that will start the XCOM GUI.
  3. The CMD.exe window should still stay open after the GUI does not start and the error message(s) can be captured.

The screen shot of the CMD.exe showed message:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\Program Files\CA\XCOM\xcomjni.dll: Can't load AMD 64-bit .dll on a IA 32-bit platform

Resolution

Make sure that the path for the Windows System Environmental variable XCOM_JAVA_HOME is that of your Java 1.8 version.

XCOM r11.6 SP03 requires that you install JAVA 1.8 64 bit on your environment before you install XCOM. It is also used for the XCOM UI(GUI), that is why you need to make sure that the variable is using the correct path for JAVA.
