One of the SpectroSERVERs that normally takes a couple of hours to startup is now taking 12 hours which is unusual. The only significant change is was an upgrade to 20.2.7 and some .vnmrc changes that done at the same time in February. No other SpectroSERVER has had this issue.
SNMPv3 debug entry in the $SPECROOT/SS/.vnmrc
Release : 20.2
Component : Spectrum Core / SpectroSERVER
The following debug entry was turned on in the $SPECROOT/SS/.vnmrc
There were thousands of devices modeled with SNMPv3. When the SS was starting up, this debug was doing excessive reads/writes to the log file which slowed down the startup time. Once the debugging was completed, this entry was disabled and the next activation time went back to normal.
We also set spm_wait_active=true which appears to have also shaved off some time.
