French Language Characters not displayed correctly in CA View.

Issue/Introduction

CA View does not display the French language characters ÀÂÇÉÈÊËÏÎÔÙÛÜ correctly when viewing a sysout. Instead, each of these characters are shown as a single period '.' in the job output.

Cause

The default SARINIT CODEPAGE parameter is set at CODEPAGE=037. Within code page 037, the French language characters ÀÂÇÉÈÊËÏÎÔÙÛÜ are considered non displayable and as a result will be shown on the display as periods '............'.

 

 

 

 

 

Resolution

To have the French characters display correctly, run SARINIT with the CODEPAGE parameter set to CODEPAGE=$01.
