When the number of active SMTP connections exceeds 1024, the mail service may begin to generate warnings from the IP frequency module / connection classification indicating that the file descriptor set size is larger than expected.


select() is being called on a file descriptor set with more than 1024 entries


This warning message can be safely ignored and does not represent an operational issue with the connection classification feature or mail processing. 

This warning message has been removed in versions 10.7.5 and later.
