Issue/Introduction

Inline Grid Editing of TSV fields doesn't work in Chrome when any one of the configured column's length crosses the length of the browser window.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Login to Clarity.
2. Navigate to Administration - Objects.
3. Create an Object called TSV Object with parent object as Project.
4. Navigate to Attributes on the newly created object.
5. Create a TSV attribute with DATA Type "Time Varying", Time Varying Type "Calendered", Time-Varying Data Units "Number", Time Varying Units Conversion "Hours".
6. Create an Attribute called Description of Data Type "String" and Maximum Size "2000".
7. Navigate to Views. Click on Layout for TSV Object List and add Description to the list.
8. Navigate to Views. Click on Fields for TSV Object List.
9. Click on New -> Display Type "Time Scaled Value" -> Select TSV Attribute in "Value Attributes" -> Column Label As TSV -> Display Type "Number" -> Time Scale "Months" -> Start Date -> Rolling Date "Start of Current Year" -> Number of Periods 12 -> Save. After save is successful check the "Allow Editing" flag.
10. navigate to Views. Click on Fields for TSV Object List. Click on the Properties of Description Field. Change Column Width to 5% and Width to 1. Check "Allow Word Wrapping in Column".
11. navigate to Home -> Projects -> Open a Project -> Click on Project Properties -> Click on TSV Object List.
12. Create a new instance in the sub object.
13. In the Description field use the below text.
"The identity of the longest word in English depends upon the definition of what constitutes a word in the English language, as well as how length should be compared.  Words may be derived naturally from the language's roots or formed by coinage and construction. Additionally, comparisons are complicated because place names may be considered words, technical terms may be arbitrarily long, and the addition of suffixes and prefixes may extend the length of words to create grammatically correct but unused or novel words.  The length of a word may also be understood in multiple ways. Most commonly, length is based on orthography (conventional spelling rules) and counting the number of written letters. Alternate, but less common, approaches include phonology (the spoken language) and the number of phonemes (sounds)"

14. You will see that the Description field is long enough for it to cross the expand vertically and the vertical scroll bar is enabled on the browser. This is tested on a 14inch Laptop screen with 1920 * 1080p Resolution.

15. Try editing the TSV field in the List Layout.

Cause

This issue is caused by DE60042 and will not be fixed. The only options are to use the workaround's as mentioned in Resolution section.

Resolution

Workaround :-

1. Configure the Column width % to be more than 25%.

2. Use a different browser i.e. Firefox.
