WHAT IS CCS390 RELEASE, 14.0 OR 14.1?

Issue/Introduction

You are installing CA Common Services R14.1 on your z/OS system. You previously had CCS390 R14.0 and you were receiving the following messages at CAS9 startup:

 	CAS9075I - SERVICE(CA-RIM/BASE ) VERS(1400) GENLVL(E000AS900) 

 

After the CCS390 R14.1 installation you are receiving the following message:

 	CAS9075I - SERVICE(CA-RIM/BASE ) VERS(1400) GENLVL(E100AS900) 

 

Should you see a change from 1400 to 1410 in these messages, or are they not updated in the new maintenance release?

All the messages that you are seeing are correct:

With CCS390 R14, you received:

 CAS9075I - SERVICE(CA-RIM/BASE ) VERS(1400) GENLVL(E000AS900)   
   
 CAS9075I - Service(CA-ENF/BASE ) VERS(1400) GENLVL(E000AW100)   
 CAS9075I - Service(CA-CCI/BASE ) VERS(1400) GENLVL(E000AW400)

The Genlevel indicates CCS390 release:

E000 means that you were running with CCS390 14.0 because:
E is 14 in hexadecimal

So E000 is for 14.0 release.

With the CCS390 R14.1 installation, you have now the messages:

  CAS9075I - Service(CA-RIM/BASE ) VERS(1400) GENLVL(E100AS900) 

  CAS9075I - Service(CA-ENF/BASE ) VERS(1400) GENLVL(E100AW100) 	
  CAS9075I - Service(CA-CCI/BASE ) VERS(1400) GENLVL(E100AW400)

 

All of these messages are correct:

E100 means that you were running with CCS390 14.1 because:
E is 14 in hexadecimal
1 is the indication for r14.1

You are running with 14.1 release of CCS390...
