Issue/Introduction

We need to export the list of servers and profiles that are configured in the net connect probe of UIM.

Environment

  • Release: 20.4 or higher
  • Component: NET CONNECT

Cause

  • Custoer needed to export data from the net_connect probe which produced a report or list of the monitored servers and profiles

Resolution

If you just need to export a list of servers in the net_connect probe, in IM the net_connect probe allows you to Copy all of the profiles to the clipboard from the 'Show Status Window.' (green circular button icon):

Select all servers/profiles and rt-click to Copy to clipboard:

Open a new Excel docuent, and choose the upper left cell and paste the contents, then you can adust the headers (bold), colors etc:

Additional Information

If you only need to copy out a list of servers that are running the net_connect probe on each robot,

On the Primary hub or any hub, you can:

Go to INSTALL\bin directory and run ProbeReport.exe.

Click on the first icon in the toolbar (looks like a circle with a triangle to it's right).

Select all of the hubs from the list that you want the information for.

Press the 'OK' button.

After the report is generated, click the Excel logo on the toolbar to copy the report to Excel.

Open Excel (you might be able to use other spreadsheet programs) and press Ctrl-V.  From there you just have to grab the list of servers that have the net_connect probe and copy/paste it to wherever you might need it.

The only thing that might be a problem is that, if the robot is inactive, it won't show up on the report.

to see if anyone has an alternative way of accomplishing this, e.g., written a script that might automate this process.
