Issue/Introduction

The integration method between UIM and MVS via the zEvent probe. Sending test messages from MVS over to develop the alarm policies.  All the messages seem to be coming over into UIM with a level of minor.  How do we change this to say critical?

Environment

Release : 20.x

Component : UIM ZEVENT

Resolution

With OPS/MVS you probably have an OPS/REXX program or AOF Rule that issues and "ADDRESS USS UIMEVENT" Host command. There is a Severity Keyword where you set the following.

SEVERITY
Severity code, one of the following codes:
I           - Informational
W        - Warning
E          - Error
S          - Severe error
F          - Fatal error

The actual Severity numbers that reach UIM are in this order 5,4,3,2,1.
OPS/MVS sends the Severity as a single character to the UIM zevent probe as spelled out in the OPS/MVS documentation.
The event is sent in JSON format. The translation to numerical format is done on the UIM side.
