Issue/Introduction

With v14.0 or r14.1, CA MASTER initialization can fail at IPL and issue the following messages:

*CAMS100I CAMASTER INITIALIZATION IN PROGRESS
*CAMS321E Initialization for CASSMRIM failed; RC=X'40000008'
*CAMS095E CAMASTER #ERROR CODE=0015 issued by CAMSPVT .CAMSIRIM+03A0
Fatal error processing required RIM modules.
*CAMS108E REQUIRED CA PRODUCT RIM MODULE HAS FAILED DURING INITIALIZATION
*CAMS199E CAMASTER FATAL INITIALIZATION ERROR

Environment

Release: CA90SV00200-14-Common Services-for z/OS
Component:

Resolution

The failure is due to a mixed release environment and the required CAIRIM modules cannot be found. Review your linklist and ensure that there is not an older Common Services load library in front of the current v14.0 or r14.1 CAW0LINK library. Either remove the older library from linklist (if possible) or be sure that the current CAW0LINK library is ahead of it.

It is also good practice that if the CAW0LOAD library is defined to the linklist, that it too is defined ahead of any older CA Common Services load library that still needs to exist in the linklist.
