V-Edge (Viptela) Devices missing serial numbers from SSDB.

Resolution

1.  Stop Spectrum Server.

NOTE:  When making changes with Model Type Editor the changes need to be made exactly the same on every landscape OR the catalog needs to be saved and reloaded on every landscape.

Use caution when making edits under Model Type Editor.

2.  Launch Model Type Editor and create a custom mapping in Model Type Editor for 1.3.6.1.4.1.41916.3.1.1.1.5.1.0 to poll for a Text String

3. Commit changes in Model Type Editor and Start Spectrum Server.

4. Locate the new attribute created for the custom mapping and associate that value to DeviceSerialAttr 

5. Both Serial_Number_Viptela and Serial_Number will be populated with the devices serial.
