Issue/Introduction

We were told that NetOps 20.2.6 has a capability with which the DA can be configured to send data to a Kafka bus.

We would like to know how much data each metric in our PC is collecting in order to size the customer's request.

Environment

Release : 3.7

Component : IM Data Aggregator

Resolution

 If you create the file /opt/IMDataAggregator/apache-karaf-2.4.3/etc/com.ca.im.dm.core.aggregator.loader.bulk.impl.cfg and add the line backupOnComplete=true. It will create back .dto files per metric family that we send to vertica to load. Let this run for 10-15 minutes and it will give you how much we load per metric family for the time period it is running. Once done change backupOnComplete=true to backupOnComplete=false.

1. cd /opt/IMDataAggregator/apache-karaf-2.4.3/etc/
2. touch com.ca.im.dm.core.aggregator.loader.bulk.impl.cfg
3. edit com.ca.im.dm.core.aggregator.loader.bulk.impl.cfg and add the line:

backupOnComplete=true

then save the file.

4. after 10-15 minutes edit com.ca.im.dm.core.aggregator.loader.bulk.impl.cfg and change the line to:

backupOnComplete=false.

then save the file.

5. Now in the directory /opt/IMDataAggregator/data/performance-spool/backup you will have all the files that we would have written to the vertica database.
