This document lists the new fixes and component versions in Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 14.3 RU1 MP1 (14.3.3580.1100). This information supplements the information found in the Release Notes.

User Name and Host Name DBCS characters are not converted properly
Fix ID: ESCRT-3592
Symptoms: SEPM reporting displays some DBCS characters as a “?” instead of the correct character.
Solution: Updated the API used to allow proper character conversion.
Location Awareness does not recognize and adapter when using NIC description
Fix ID: ESCRT-3977
Symptoms: Citrix Virtual Adapters are not recognized by the SEP client when defined within the NIC description field for Location Awareness criteria.
Solution: Resolved an issue that resulted in the NIC description field not honoring certain adapters.
Unexpected Server Error seen in SEPM console log after LiveUpdate
Fix ID: ESCRT-4131
Symptoms: Unexpected Server Error is logged in the SEPM console after every LiveUpdate.
Solution: Updated the SQL query involved to prevent a conflict.
Windows Unknown is displayed in the SEP client User Interface
Fix ID: ESCRT-4566
Symptoms: Windows Server 2016 and Server Server 2019 appear as Windows Unknown under Operating System in the SEP client troubleshooting interface.
Solution: Updated the detection method used to determine the Operating System for the Troubleshooting UI.
SEP client is unable to update definitions
Fix ID: ESCRT-4619
Symptoms: In certain scenarios, the SEP client does not always run LiveUpdate on its schedule.
Solution: Corrected an issue in job scheduling when “daily” is selected for the LiveUpdate frequency.
External Logging is missing the Host field
Fix ID: ESCRT-4828
Symptoms: Host Name field is missing when reviewing External Logging data.
Solution: Resolved an issue that caused a format issue in the External Logging component.
Auto-exclusions are not created as expected for Microsoft Exchange 2019
Fix ID: ESCRT-5067
Symptoms: Automatic exclusions are missing for Microsoft Exchange 2019.
Solution: Added auto-exclusion support for Microsoft Exchange 2019.
Smc -image command is not working
Fix ID: ESCRT-5431
Symptoms: Smc -image command does not work in a Citrix vDisk Provisioning environment.
Solution: Resolved an issue that prevented the command from proceeding.
SaFA pool tag consuming unexpected amount of paged pool memory
Fix ID: ESCRT-5456
Symptoms: SaFA pool tag is observed in a Memory Dump or PoolMon consuming an unexpected amount of paged pool memory.
Solution: Corrected an issue that impacted File Attribute storage for Auto-Protect.
SEPM replication intermittently errors in a Database Availability Group configuration
Fix ID: ESCRT-5598
Symptoms: Replication and log insertion events intermittently fail when the SEPM is using a database in an Always On Availability Group.
Solution: Enabled MultiSubnetFailover support.
SEPM upgrade is unable to proceed after a repair installation
Fix ID: ESCRT-5679
Symptoms: Upgrading the SEPM encounters the error “java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/rsa/jsafe/provider/JsafeJCE” if a repair installation is performed during the upgrade process.
Solution: Corrected an issue that prevented certain java files from being placed in the correct location.
SEPM upgrade is unable to proceed if Database Mirroring is enabled
Fix ID: ESCRT-5685
Symptoms: Upgrading the SEPM encounters the error “Upgrade.doUpgrade com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException” if SQL Server is configured for Database Mirroring.
Solution: Corrected an issue that impacted certain database configurations.
SylinkDrop utility is unable to import a large sylink.xml
Fix ID: ESCRT-5772
Symptoms: An error “The selected Sylink file is too large” is displayed when attempting to import a large sylink.xml.
Solution: Added support for larger Sylink.xml files.
ccSvcHst.exe crash observed on Active Directory servers
Fix ID: ESCRT-5836
Symptoms: Intermittent ccSvcHst.exe crash observed on Active Directory servers under certain configurations.
Solution: Resolved a conversion error that had the potential to lead to an unexpected process termination.
SEP Mac repeatedly displays “You are at risk” errors
Fix ID: ESCRT-5849
Symptoms: SEP Mac installed alongside Cisco AnyConnect on macOS 11 repeatedly displays “You are at risk” error messages.
Solution: Resolved a filter handling issue when interacting with certain third party products.
SEPM Lux.log is not created when debug logging is enabled
Fix ID: ESCRT-5981
Symptoms: SEPM LiveUpdate LUX.log is not created when debug logging is enabled.
Solution: Resolved an issue that prevented debug log creation when SEPM is installed to a custom directory.
SEPM upgrade encounters an error during certificate validation
Fix ID: ESCRT-5992
Symptoms: Upgrading the SEPM encounters the error “Failed to validate the server name in a certificate during Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) initialization”.
Solution: Resolved an issue that impacted certificate validation.
User Names appear truncated in SEPM reporting
Fix ID: ESCRT-6101
Symptoms: Logon User field in SEPM reporting is incorrectly truncated for certain users.
Solution: Resolved a formatting issue that resulted in certain user names being unexpectedly truncated.
SEPM upgrade is unable to proceed if Database Availability Group is enabled
Fix ID: ESCRT-6137
Symptoms: Upgrading the SEPM encounters the error “Unexpected error.” if the SQL Server is in a Database Availability Group.
Solution: Corrected an issue that impacted certain database configurations.
