CA Privileged Access Manager (PAM)

Issue/Introduction

Would like to check on the EOS and EOSL for the hardware device for CA  PAM

Hardware Model: X304L

Environment

Release : 3.2.x, 3.3.x, 3.4.x, 4.x

Component: PRIVILEGED ACCESS MANAGEMENT

Cause

The X304L hardware is no longer being sold, this is an End of Sale and End of Life hardware. In as much as it cannot hold any recent version of CA PAM, since it is limited to 16 Gbyte RAM, it is also End of Support

Support would be provided to these older hardware boxes based on their existing warranty / extended warranty.

Resolution

Please note that the latest Hardware appliance to be sold by Broadcom was the 404L series. Therefore it is not possible to deploy new hardware appliances.

Ever since version 4.2.2 selling of hardware appliances has been discontinued, and it is recommended instead to deploy a physical machine with KVM and install the CA PAM on it.

For existing 404L appliances, CA PAM can still be upgraded to more recent versions for as long as the necessary product requirements are met. Please consult the installation and upgrade requirements in the documentation coming with each version of the product.

Existing hardware appliances will be covered against hardware malfunction for as long as they are in Warranty or Extended Warranty.
