Design backup and recovery procedures as you implement the CA Workload Automation CA 7 Edition database. Remember that when multiple logical databases are contained in one CA Datacom/AD MUF, backup, recovery, and tuning are performed for all logical databases simultaneously. Consider this important fact when designing backup and recovery procedures.

With the CA Datacom/AD database, the backup includes both the definitions and active workload on one backup file. Recovery depends on the type of backup that was taken.

All database functions are done with the database utility DBUTLTY. DBUTLTY is documented in the CA Datacom/DB Database for z/OS DBUTLTY documentation.
