CA Performance Management - Usage and Administration DX NetOps

Issue/Introduction

Is there a flag or switch that will allow ignore case to be used in the Component Filter for Monitoring Profiles?

This will be particular useful when using it on ifAlias. Users may put in variations of case for the keyword to filter on like Business, business, BUsiness.

Cause

The filters in DX NetOps Performance Management do not support case-insensitive options for options in the filter dialogs.

Environment

All supported DX NetOps Performance Management releases

Resolution

To have a built in option to ignore case sensitivity in DX NetOps Performance Management filters would require an Enhancement Request. These can be submitted via Idea posts in the Ideation page of the Broadcom Community site.

Until that is present in the product the following are the only options available.

  • Use normal contains, startswith, or other similar options specifying different case versions that are OR'd for all possible values in a single comparison statement.
  • Create a regex pattern that matches either upper and/or lower case values.
    • For example a regex that matches "[Tt][Ee][Ss][Tt]" would look for case-insensitive results like "test" "TeST", etc.
