Issue/Introduction

Hi there, we are trying to find the ODF table called ODF_MULTI_VALUED_LOOKUPS table in Power BI to get a multi-value lookup attribute in Power BI. Can you advise how to get this in? Is there way to create a multi-value lookup attribute and have it stored in another table that is already part of the Data warehouse?

Environment

CLARITY SAAS DATA WAREHOUSE / POWER BI

Resolution

When connecting to the Clarity SAAS OData server feed via Power BI you will notice the ODF_MULTI_VALUED_LOOKUPS table is not available here (however it is available via the CAPPM Bean in Advanced Reporting).

In Power BI to access a multi-value lookup attribute and have it stored in another table that is already part of the Data warehouse schema you can use the DWH_INV_PROJECT table. If attribute is marked to be included in the Data warehouse, and the jobs run without error you should be able to access your custom attributes in the DWH_INV_PROJECT table.

As a test using a custom attribute and static list multi-value lookup:
- Associate the field to the lookups
- Run all the Data warehouse/OData jobs and the actual lookups will be uniquely written per lookup into tables, for example DWH_LKP_TEST_MVL
- Once the tables are accessible to your Power BI reporting tool you'll have to join the DWH tables (DWH_INV_PROJECT and DWH_LKP_TEST_MVL) to get the data
