The Symantec Linux software repository server “linux-repo.us.securitycloud.symantec.com” that contains the affected product’s Linux agent software package is relocating to a new hosting server.
How does this impact me?
You will be impacted if you restrict HTTPS protocol for outbound access. You will need to open up access to a new IP address.
You will not be impacted if you have no outbound restrictions for the HTTPS protocol or use URL filtering technology and no further action needed.
What do I need to do?
If your company uses IP address firewall techniques to restrict HTTPS outbound access to the Internet, add the firewall rules with the following new IP address that represents the URL, “linux-repo.us.securitycloud.symantec.com.”
144.49.210.144
Make sure to keep the current firewall settings open until after we switch over to the new server.
When will this happen?
The IP address change will happen on April 30, 2021.
