Issue/Introduction

Can the ACF2 VSAM databases be defined with secondary extents?

Resolution

Both the DATA and INDEX components of the ACF2 databases can be allocated with secondary space allocations. In addition, the DATA component can be allocated on multiple volumes. The INDEX component cannot be allocated on multiple volumes. In a shared DASD environment, ACF2 ensures that current extent information is known to all systems sharing the database.
